West Coast Trip - On Both Sides Of The Border

Well I just got back from this Trip - What a great time. Fab roads - Great peeps
Lots of rain - Scenery was out of this world

Page 1 2 3 - heading to Moab & inside the Arches National Park

- Trip meter shows just over 11,500 K
- Bike is now at just over 75,000 K for my third year of riding
- Cost of trip was approx 2,200 dollars
- Day 1 – Toronto Ontario to Winnipeg through the States
- Day 2 – Winnipeg to Minnedosa Manitoba
- Day 3 – Minnedosa to Swift Current Saskatoon
- Day 4 – Swift Current to Kananaskis Trail to Banff to Jasper Alberta and over
Into B C and down to Blue River
- Day 5 - Blue River to Abbotsford Vancouver to Spanaway Washington
- Day 6 - Rode to Seattle to get parts
- Day 7 - Rained out so got oil changed and planned ride for the next day
- Day 8 - did the top part of Mt Rainer
- Day 9 - Spanaway WA to bottom of Mt Rainer to Hilgard Junction State park
To Baker City to Boise Idaho
- Day 10 - Boise Idaho to Price Utah
- Day 11 - Price Utah to Moab to 128 to Grand Junction Colorado
- Day 12 – Grand Junction Colorado to Gothenburg Nebraska
- Day 13 - Gothenburg Nebraska to Toronto Ontario

Gothenburg to Toronto non-stop - you are crazy

When I rode to Arizona last year I did Hamilton to Gothenburg in two days, which was about 1,900 kms.

Funny I did your route from Utah to Toronto almost in reverse. I went Gothenburg to Grand Junction, Grand Junction to 128 to Moab, then toured Arches, but then I headed to Bryce Canyon and on to Arizona. So far Utah has topped the charts for me in terms of scenery - next year it is going to my my dedicated destination! The landscape there made the Grand Canyon seem a little anticlimatic. Its impressive but just doesn't have the stunning contrast of the places I've seen in Utah - so far.

Gothenburg to Toronto non-stop - you are crazy

I have been called worse .. LOL
It was around 22 hours & 45 mins to do it.

If you are every out near the south of Calgary the Kananaskis Trail
& the 93 heading to Jasper are 2 runs worth there weight in gold.
If you head west from the Lts 2 K out of Jasper and go
west on 16 I think it is and head down the 5 towards Kamloops,
That is a great ride and scenery. Below Kamloops and is boring.

We left Moab UT exactly one week ago at 7am, arrived at Oakville the next day at 7pm. I remember seeing an exit toward Gothenburg on I-80.

I totaly agree with you, I've toured Utah for a few days and now I'm affraid that the bar is set too high for further trips.

Well guys I know Nebraska is kind of boring - but still :-(

I max out at about 1,200 kms for a day, but that's not a typical day, like to keep it around 800. Not so much physically as mentally - especially on the highways. Get those highway eyes going - looking but not really registering. So I guess no "iron butt" for me, unless they invent a bike with auto pilot and I could bungee my carcass on it.

You don't know how boring is until you've seen it by night .

My "secret" is to trailer the bike. Drove a minivan with a friend and we took turns driving it, got to Denver in less than 24 hours, relatively well rested. We had only 10 days of vacation and this way we could affort to stay 8 in Colorado and Utah. We rented the heavy duty motorcycle trailer from exclusive sport rentals, great guys:

The longest ride me and my riding partner did is from Toronto to Salt Lake City.
Now that was a ride. (last year)
Next day into San Francisco

Yes Hwy is boring but gets you to where you need to be fast

BTW - 99% of my pics were taken while riding.

What kind of camera? I was scoping out helmet cams but I'm really more interested in stills than video.
