Vehicle Documents, I am new to this...

Hello all,

I picked up this bike from Craigslist a few weeks back and it is now ready to have the safety done, I just have a few questions, I have done a search, but I am not sure what to do in this case.

1) The picture of the document below is the only one I have, is this the 'Ownership Document' it is still in the previous owners name. Is this all I need to transfer it into my name? It is currently stapled to the receipt that the owner wrote out for me for $100 :)

2) Do I need any docs for when 'Rosey Toes' come to do the on site safety check?

3) Assuming the ownership document below is ok, I just take it along with the safety and proof of insurance to the Service Ontario at College and Bay to get it on the road number plates etc?

Sorry for the questions, I have just recently moved here from the UK and I need to get my head round it.

Yes, the signed off ownership and safety + cash or credit card with a driver license will get you new plates.

You can go to any Service Ontario location that does driver and vehicle licensing, not just the one at College and Bay. If that's the closest one to you, then go for it. Check for locations here

The only other paperwork you will require is the UVIP. Used Vehicle Information Package. It's ~$20 and completely useless at this point, but you will still have to pay for one and then pitch it right into the trash.

Excellent, thanks guys! Yes that ownership doc is signed on the back.

So the receipt is dated on the actual day I paid for the bike (May 16th), and I don't plan on getting the Safety, plates insurance etc done for the next 3-4 weeks. On the back it says it needs to be changed within 6 days of the transfer of ownership, am I going to get penalized as it will be like 6 weeks in total before I get all of this done? Any fines or anything for taking this long?

This really is a great help!

No you wont get penalized, trasfered a few vehicles to my name without any questions and all the ownerships were dated a month or more
