Valve clearance check! Help?

Do you have a manual? Using the feeler gauges is not really complicated. If you don't have a good "feel" for the gauge just go up to the next larger size. It should not fit. Then go to the size smaller than you need and it should slip in with no resistance at all. Done.
Actually adjusting the valves is a little more complicated depending on the layout. Tappets are pretty simple. Shims over bucket are super easy but not too many bikes still do it that way. Under the bucket means pulling the cams.

If you can access the buckets then you've handled the hard part.
