Using Uhaul trailer for trackdays. yay or nay?

Don't forget that when you are pulling big loads, and you go down hills, they are pushing you... I pulled a Seadoo Jet boat behind a Jeep TJ once... hitch rated way higher than the boat weight. Well, heading down the hill by Valley Heights was a bit scary, if you're into doing things like stopping.. or changing direction at your own behest... which are features I enjoy.

also I would like to add that if you're getting a custom hitch made for a car, that they don't already make a hitch that rating for... you might be doing it wrong.

You dont seem to understand here. Going over the bump has no effect on the hitch as its already class 3. The force will be on your spring.

So you should ask if your spring can handle the load

dude.. these people have been towing for a long time.. respect their experience so you can learn from it..

going over the bump may not affect the hitch or the car.. but if its gonna sheer the bolts holding the hitch to your car.. YOU MAY EXPERIENCE SLIGHT DIZZINESS AND A **** LOAD IN THE PANTS:agave:..no biggie

Hahaha

tell you what.. you put a 500lb bike/gear on a class 1 hitch carrier.. i will come and cheer you on..

ps: i may record it for youtube purposes

Kinda sorta important info.

also i opted for the class 3 option since it allowed for the use of full towing capacity if in the future i end up needing it... like say towing 2 bikes on one of those hwy rated trailers from Uhaul.. better to be prepared

class 2 would be a total over kill on the 2.4 litre variant of santafe sport.. they are not rated for class 3 at all. MAX CLASS 2

Interesting, are you saying going over the bump would change the tongue weight..... I guess all the rating on hitch receiver means moot then

its MAX rating not min rating... mine came with a warning label.. DO NOT EXCEED *********** amounts

Where did you get that idea? Lol read my posts again?

i did thats why i said........

class 2 may not visually show the damage a class 1 would definitely drop.. hence i suggested using class one for what not to do when using a hitch video.

Where did i say about going over the rating.

The weight of the bike is 450lbs so thats your tongue weight. Does that exceed class 3 hitch?

If you actually read my posts, then show me where i suggest using class 2 hitch. Seriously man you sound more annoying now.
