Un-invoiced Plate Licensing

In a recent discussion with the sales guy, at the dealership where I'm buying my bike from, he mentioned that he wasn't even going to put the plate licensing costs on the large yellow invoice, because they usually charge a flat fee of approx $80, and that I would get the prorated cost for cheaper (~$50), but it wouldn't be on the invoice.

Ofcourse this raises a couple of red flags, but the dealer is a reputable one, so I am wondering what is the downside here?

get it in writing, get it on camers, get whitneses
if its not gona be on the invice get it on another paper sighned dated with whitness signatures and manager signature,
so they dont turn around and say ' no its not on the yello invoce so we dont pay dont that'

This is normal. If they get it pro-rated, you pay less because you only pay for the months left until your renewal month(birthday) instead of the full year(only applicable on new vehicle registrations). This will not be on your yellow invoice, but they should give you a separate receipt from the MTO.

What?

OP- What N3WMAN said.
Or he can just write TBA in the licensing part of the bill of sale and you just reimburse them for the cost of the plate/sticker. (according to Service Ontario's invoice)

Nothing to worry about.
