Two piece suits

Just wondering who has one and what people recommend? I already have a one piece and figure a two would be nice for the road for obvious reasons. Doesn't have to be leather either. Just looking for pros and cons from those who have them. Thanks

If you're getting a two-piece make sure the zipper goes all the way around. There are some (textile suits mostly) that only have a 10-inch zipper at the back, as opposed to almost 360 degrees of some of the leather two-pieces. All that 10-inch-back zipper is good for is stopping drafts. That said, any tailor can add a longer zipper to your two-piece to make it more secure.

Also, I've tried on some two-piece leather suits where the jacket is very short so that there's minimal overlap with the high-waisted pants. In this case, the jacket is almost useless to wear alone, unless you like the Bolero-look...

+1 I find the jacket of my two piece suit to be too short to be worn alone. Also , the 360 zipper is sitched using a "stretchy fabric" ...it's not actually stitched on to the suit( I have a low end suit, expensive ones may be different)...so when I'm in a tuck I feel as if the jacket wants to fly up and is held by that zipper...

I have a 2-piece from Velocity. I have one of their earlier versions, which I found some of the construction techniques to be on the cheap side (the newer versions look much better, though, and more expensive). However, the fit's good, and has held up for the past 3.5 years (including one low side at the track).

I also have a 2-piece, Airflow textile suit from Motorrad. Great materials, construction, and has a European cut (more fitted). The only thing is that Motorrad stuff isn't made-to-measure (like Velocity), so if you don't have an average sized body, then you'll have some fitting issues.

A consideration for a 2 piece is that if the jacket and pants are sold separately, you're able to choose different sizes to make the fit much better. I've seen it with women as an alternative to a custom suit.

They are much more practical for road riding. They are much easier to put on/take off. Most 2pc have pockets and whatnot which are more useful for street riding. I think it makes it easier to ride full leathers on the street as it is no more difficult to put on than a regular jacket.

I have one of the original Velocity 2pc suits and it saved my *** from a highside without any need for repairs. I would trust it just as much as my 1pc.

Mix and match Dainese gear! I have a leather top and textile pants. Zips up, looks and feels great.

I've got 2 different 2pc leathers for the street. 1pc for the track.
The 2pc I've used the most is my Spidi setup.
I've got a Spidi Track wind pro leather jacket & Spidi teker leather pants.
Which I find works great for the street. I also added upgraded knee and back armor.
Both jacket and pants have pockets.
The jacket has some serious perforations. No issues in the heat.
I like the teker pants because they are over the boot. So you don't look totally absurd off the bike.
Unfortunately I got the chance to crash test the combo. Had someone pull a last sec. left on me in.
Went flying, slide and tumble. Was lucky to walk away. Leathers held up good. Actually very little damage.
Leather is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. And quality leather at that.

[ QUOTE=Roomie;2134735]Thanks for the input folks. Time to go do some shopping [/QUOTE]
Shorts/ beater!

I don't usually wear mine on the street. But I use it at the track. It was given to me so I'll use it till it's unusable. With that being said, it survived one crash. Little rash where the stretchy material was.
That's the down fall. Small repair and back to new. With that being said when I get more serious, I will purchase full leathers.

I have teknic mercury 2 pc set. Can't really compare against others because they were my first. I wear them like 90% of the time I ride

I currently have Dainese Alien pants for the road. What would you guys suggest:

Buy a one piece for the road/track?
Buy a dedicated two piece?
Buy a Dainese (summer) leather jacket to zip to the pants?

I currently have a SPIDI jacket which zips to the Alien, but the zippers do not match completely so it's not 360. The jacket isn't perf'd either so hence me asking to get a summer one.

I'm not sure which route to take, but I would like to have a full leather setup this year.
