Trouble installing SMH-10 with RF1200 Helmet

With the mounting bracket/clip of the SMH10 wedged between the helmet shell, it's so tight I can't get the cheek pad back in place. The plastic rim of the check pad won't slide in place so it can click back in place.

I've installed it on 2 of my other Shoei's, but no luck with this one.

Anyone secussfully mount it to their RF1200? What am I doing wrong?

@Krime how different is the 1200 from the 1100? Just saw in another thread that @conumdrum has that setup

I know exactly what you are talking about. I had the same problem. My solution was to simply mount the unit slightly lower allowing yourself like 3-5mm of clearance from the frame of the helmet. That lets you slide that damned cheek pad in. It has zero stability issues. Feels perfectly fine, no difference compared to installing it flush. Now I can slide it in and out with out any problems.

That's the thing, I'm leaving the clamp quite a bit lower, wedged just deep enough between the foam and the shell that it'll grab and not fall off. Even with that I still can't get that plastic trim of the cheek pad to wedge in between the foam and the clamp.

I've attached a picture of what I'm talking about. Thinking about trying it again without removing the cheek pad at all, trying to just force it in.

It's a different setup but thanks though. My RF1000 was so easy, it's a step backwards with the 1200.

RF-1100 vs 1200. I just had to cut a slit in the plastic rim of the cheek pad to slip the cables in.
