Torque Wrench - Princess Auto 50% off

How is it compared to CT mastercraft maximum wrenches, which come with lifetime warranty and are much better than regular mastercraft wrenches? (both of these go on 50% off sales too quite often)

After using 2 torque wrenches from Canadian Tire that had failed on me, I bought the princess auto torque wrench several years ago and it has worked flawlessly for me since.

In fact I used it today. Good product at a great price.

I also have been using a couple of torque wrenches purchased at princess auto for years now, and I haven't had any problems with them.
Never used a mastercraft torque wrench, therefore, I cannot compare the two.

But I did find a review by a mechanical engineer, this is what he said:

"At the opposite end of the spectrum, I do not recommend Craftsman torque wrenches. While the are widely available at any Sears or Orchard Supply Hardware store and are inexpensive compared to most torque wrenches, but they should not be purchased.
They are poorly manufactured and designed. The plastic parts tend to break and the tool becomes useless. They are also not available in specific ranges that are truely useful. These are really a waste of money on every level for the motorcycleist."

I have two from Canadian tire, a 3/8" and a 1/2". You really do need to buy the size for the torque range you want. We have a 1/2" at work, using it at 20 ft-lbs is difficult, since it is hard to feel the give when you hit full torque on it, at the bottom of the range. BTW, the case looks identical to the one from Grey tools. I have not looked at the Princess Auto wrench,b ut there stuff reminds me of Canadian Tire quality 30-40 years ago, when they fully earned their nickname.
