Toronto to St. Joseph Island Aug 17 to 19 - 2013

Planning a ride from the GtA to Sault st Marie on Saturday Aug 17. Approximately 665km on Saturday to reach the Sault.
Hoping on Sunday From Sault Ste. Marie to loop around St. Joseph Island. Riding on the island is unique as there is very little traffic.The trip around St. Joesph will be about 218 km.
Then we'll head back towards home on Sunday. And depending on our timing, either stop for the night and continue Monday morning. Or a straight ride home.
If anyone has any suggestions for the itinerary or sites to see please feel free to share.

Do you plan to veer off Trans Canada at all? Any kind of route in plan? Is the island paved? What kind of bike you riding? Cheers!

I believe the trans canada is the fastest way but I'm open for any alternative route suggestions.
I ride 04 sv650s.

Personally I'd be more interested in Manitoulin Island. That hwy 6, down from Espanola looks promising.
Never been on Trans Canada, north of Parry Sound. Not sure how exciting it is. Going through Muskoka, it's worth to get off course a bit for sure.

well i heard the road after trans Canada is promising too, and the loop around the island is very famous for motorcycles, never been there but i'm up for any long trip

I'm interested going to Manitoulin Island with you guys but my riding schedule is already booked for this weekend
