Thoughts on the Honda NT1100....

You mention the Guzzi Mandello. A while ago Gene/Lightcycle?.. mentioned Studio Cycle for a solid experience there. I looked at the Guzzi lineup there... .beautiful. No personal interest in Aprilia or Husky, I`d take a look at them if they weren`t buried in the bowels of city hell. I don`t think they`re located far from where McBrides was.
McBrides had the motorcycle shop, and then 2-3 blocks over they had the bicycle shop. The old McBride bicycle shop is where Studio is. Keele and Dundas. Hardly what I'd consider downtown Toronto, really convenient if you're coming from the west or the north because you never have to enter the core... but if you're coming from the east... well... yeah... going east/west stinks.

Studio is one of few places that every year consistently has a **** ton of demo bikes to try out though. Not a lot of dealers around do that, so, for that alone, it might still be worth the drive in. I would probably call in first though, as at this time of year I'm sure they don't have as many demo units still available as they do in the spring.

I`m in central Ontario, Kawartha Lakes/Lindsay. Five or six cars at a light is busy for me. My bi-annual checkup at the Durham Region Cancer Center, it`s on Simcoe a few minutes south of Taunton, is anxiety producing. Anything south of 407 and it feels like the walls are closing in. I`m used to clear roads just minutes out of town and fresh air on the bike or car. Honestly and sadly Studio is a hard no-fly zone for me. How things change, I drove for the TTC for a while long ago. Mostly Eglinton W. from Yonge station to the Mississauga turnaround and the Yonge night bus( crazy asylum then,... now)? I also drove for Agropur/Yoplait and had a ton of downtown core calls in my 5 ton truck. All I want now is peace & quiet.

It would be worth checking to see if GP Bikes is going to get one in.

There`s two in stock at Dewildt in Peterborough, close-ish to me. DCT and reg. transmission.
I haven't ridden the NT but I have ridden the AT version. The motor gets the job done but the owner of that bike lusts after my KTM 1290R in comparison and wishes he could have gotten it instead. Others will say the 1100 has "Plenty of pep for me!". I don't know you but if you're one to ask if it has a boring motor then yes I think I can safely assume you'll feel it is a boring motor.
Maybe look into something more on the sporty end of sport-touring. How about the Suzuki 1000GT?

* Boring motors is not a bad thing, if you like boring motors.

If I was touring I'd probably like a boring motor, but, for every day use I'd liken it to marrying the girl who only does it missionary position. Sure, for some people, that'll be enough to scratch the itch for some temporary relief, I guess... but, life is so short, I don't want to settle for missionary, I want bendy girls, fun girls, weird girls, and freaky girls.

That looks like my old M50.

They don’t attract normal chicks.
