thoughts on 2 bikes

Looking at two 1/2 bikes to replace my pl bike.

bike 1 is a 2003 gsxr 750/1000 with 30k on it
bike 2 is a 2007 gsxr 600 with 22k miles
bike 3 is a 2013 cbr 250r new

I have never owned anything less then a modified 750, dont know if I would be happy with the 600's 100hp. but I like the cheaper insurance of the 600/300.

last gsxr had 153.
gsxr befor that had 124
and my old katana 750

I like the looks better of the 2007 gsxr 600 (blue white).
but I like the performance side of the 2003 1000.

and on top of that I could buy the 250 and beat on it as hard as I could and not get into to much trouble.

still keeping my 96 gsxr 750 and my 91 gsxr 750, just getting another
any thought on the 3 bikes?

You're worried about the 600 being under powered but still considering a 250/300? I say get the 600/750. That's all you'll need for the streets.
 
You seem favorable to the Suzukis. Just throwing a random tidbit at you:

03-05 R6 has 122~ hp.
 
Take my word for it... you will hate the lack of power in the 250. It sounds fun, but coming from a bigger bike, the lack of power coming out of a turn onto a straight gets to you after a little while.


From the options above, personally, I'd go with the 07 Gsxr. Great looks. Modern mechanics. Fast. It will probably be a lot more nimble/fast than your older bikes.
 
buy a cbr 600rr then you wont have to ride in sandles any more on your GIXXER
 
if Jesus could walk on water in sandals I think I can ride a bike in them !

I like the Suzuki since I was a little kid.

Iv ridden newer cbr60rr's and other 600cc bikes, just missing something when being an a ss.
thats why I was thinkg the 250r would be fun and I could stil keep up in twisties. and not be thinking it was missing something because I would know its slow.

the 03 750 with the 04 1000 engine seems good and a great price but I just never rode an o3/04.

fair enough, but i know guys with gixxers who put on sandles and bathing suits when they want to ride in the rain.....

twisties come down to how good the rider is, i got smoked by a buddy on a harley 48 1200cc on river road last week, to be fair it was 1am, pitch black out, bugs covering my visor and he rides it all the time and that was my first time there....but he rides the crap out of that harley.

the 250s are physically really small, my buddy took his m2 this weekend and i went out to see him, they were riding the cbr125's which are really tiny.
just make sure you are comfortable on the bike, it would suck going onto a 250 and feeling really cramped on it, you may not be able to ride it for periods of time.
the ninja 300 seems to be a little bigger than the 250, and then you get a couple extra features like slipper clutch and efi....but there arent many used yet.

maybe try a supermoto? their insurance is crazy cheap, one buddy is paying 150 or 250/year on his m1

Ninja 250 much larger than CBR 125s... Ninja 250 is like the size of a CBR 500
 
Id go with a 2004+ gsxr 750. Why get the 600 when you can get a 750 with 20 more hp and only a couple more pounds.
 
Why not get a different type of bike like a supermotard, or other naked sports bike. You have the super sports covered.
 
Im not a normal gixxer guy, I ride in a suit (not the office one), boots, gloves, and ride the piss out of my bikes.
I go on track aswell.
@ this point we can drop the 250, that must of been the sun from the weekend.
 
I'd stay with 750cc.
 
I have a K7600 and I love it, but I would really consider a 750 in the future. Corners are great but coming out of them it takes some WOT to keep up with litrebikes. Never rode a litrebike, so not sure how high in the RPMs you can really go on street, but 750 seems like a good compromise.
 
I think the 750 is the right power but a 1000 would be fine.
I like the real old gixxers (my 91) the 96-99 are ok, but dont really like them after that until 07
the 03 kinda sneeked in cuz of the engine swap.

-i rode a 1000 last year,sold it this past march

-bought a newer 600 because i got a killer deal on it

-600 is now for sale and i've already bought another 1000(couldn't stand the powerband of the 600

-03 1000 is my vote

hahah thats what happens after you ride a 1000. you get on the 600 and wonder if its broken :lmao:
