Thoughts and Opinions on 1985 Honda VF500C Magna V30?

I repeat - there was a recall. sorry if you cannot recall. For the 30, 45, and 65. I give up.

Then refresh me please, Mr. Know-it-all ?
I know about the issues with V45s and V65s, (camchain/tensioners and cam/rockers) as I have repeatedly mentioned.
What were these V30 problems have I forgotten or overlooked ?

Well as you know with financing you need to have full coverage. I asked a friend of mine who got R3 last year in Winter how much the bike costs him a year, the bill was around $6k. Believe it or not but an R3 would cost $3000-$4000 to insure. Not to mention $150+ mon on bike payments.

Yeah I could again finance but I don't want to deal with having to have full coverage and making monthly payments on the bike, were instead I can just pay for insurance and that's all.

Saving well I could have, but you as a rider know how hard it's to stay away from ridding when you have people all around you riding there motorcycles and your not.

Relax boyo! I don't doubt your claim of recall. Was working from memory on that post. Not sure if the v30 was more guilt by association, or never sold in enough numbers to gain a bad reputation. No mention of a recall here though:

I found virtually no mention of v30s being affected in the way v45s an v65s were. The few places the question came up, there was no consensus. Some claimed the v30 oiling kits were a money grab, others that Honda fixed the problem on 1985-86 models. *shrugs* Most old bikes have their quirks. As long as we eventually manage to set the record straight for OP.
