This only applies in Australia. Helmet cameras.

The bureacrats at their best.

I'm just happy I can wear my Euro Standard approved helmet here legally this year.

I'm not sure about Ontario rules for this, but when the helmet manufacturers say that affixing a camera could compromise the integrity of the helmet in a crash it's enough for me to mount the camera on the bike. That and feeling the pull of the camera at 200 km/hr (closed circuit of course) when it's on the helmet.

There have been at least two convictions for having a camera attached to a helmet. The actual reg states that anything including the mohawks that protrude more than 5 mm from the shell of the helmet, (of course doesn't apply to manufacturer installed items), negates the helmet certification.

Now of course, communicators also fall into this category, but I haven't seen anyone charged with that. With the two who were convicted it could be a case of "attitude adjustment" for the rider. There are literally thousands of riders with helmet cams, that never get stopped little lone charged. I like you have opted to move my cameras, (I have front and rear facing), to the bike. It is a more stable video, and no worries that I "might" get a shot of my speedometer in the video...lol Of course with a cruiser speed isn't normally an issue. The cameras did provide evidence that I was 100% not at fault when a cager side swiped my bike in my lane. That alone will save me thousands with the way insurance is going.

I need not concern myself that the video will be "used against me" because I ride responsibility, so that combined with insurance concerns makes it a worth while investment.

A pig that gives ticket for helcam must be a lonely piece of ****.
I'm sure the main purpose is not about "enforcing the law" but " i hate myself and lets give this biker some hassle and waste taxpayers money"

Waste the taxpayers money? Any fine increases the money which is the purpose. How else do politicians keep giving themselves raises every year?
