thank you for stealing my helmet

This is just a special thank you to whoever stole my white Nolan Trilogy 43 Helmet. It was stolen off of the hook on my vespa while I ran into a takeout restaurant and had to wait a few minutes for my order. It was stolen at Dundas and Morrow in the west end.

I am sure I am not the first one to have a helmet stolen. Frankly, I had thought it was fairly unlikely that someone would steal a helmet. Guess I was wrong.

In the interim, I am sure you all know not to buy used helmets, apart from being hot, you have no idea if they are safe.

If anyone needs the detachable chin guard for a Nolan let me know.

Ian

Another reason I don't like leaving my helmet there, unless other bikers are around. Double whammy if you ride the bike home without a helmet

"always bring your helmet with you" - yep. Just learned expensive lesson. on the plus side was not so keen on the colour so now I guess I have a reason to get a new one.

I live in the west end, have a car,and was close to home so I was able to get dinner home safely and legally and sort then sort out the bike. Guess I am thankful that was still there upon my return.

could be teens, could be crack head, who knows.

Sorry to hear about your loss.... Not familiar with the westend area you mention, but if 'crackheads' are a possibility, you sure took the risk of leaving the helmet!. I thought most vespas have a box in the back to lock purses or helmets in?

btw - welcome to the forum.

I feel for you. Lost a brand new Shoei X-8 Air off my bike while I walked a girl over to her car at OV's. She was worth it though.

Well, it seems, crack heads can be found everywhere. But no I don't usually associate them with dundas and roncy.

really? really??

who steals a helmet? so low.

sorry to hear about your loss man. sucks!

and as someone else mentioned, yeah double whammy having to ride home without helmet etc…. sucks

For those who've had this happen, what did you do to get home? Riding without a helmet ....not sure if anyone would do that, plus it's illegal.

Watch the helmet not fit the person or it being some stupid kids. What a world we live in..

In my case I seriously thought about taking my chances riding up 427N to Rexdale Blvd without a helmet. It was like 2am and I had to work at 6am, and I didn't want to leave my bike in the parking lot overnight. But, I was fortunate that the aforementioned girl drove me home to get my tatty Bieffe spare. I had to wear that POS for the rest of the season, couldn't afford another Shoei.

Probably some loser who needed cash and took it to a pawn shop. Sorry to hear, people are ridiculous nowadays. You can't have anything sitting out. I've had my iPod stolen from my car when I went into the bank for 5 mins. Windows open and bam, gone. I then bought a better one! On a positive note, you can get a helmet that isn't as God awful ugly as the one that was stolen :P

Dundas and Roncy is like crackhead central. The whole area is a interesting mix of crackheads and hipsters.

I leave my helmet on the bike all the time..no issue..even with my sena on it. but i live and ride in small towns

But when i am in some of the bigger places like brantford I put it in the top box or take it in with me.
