Can anyone confirm this? Guess the warranty is null and void on their products?

****** if true, I do like their stuff, just need a couple little things fixed

Gasp...

That's sad... I just bought their Mercury jacket. Guess no warranty then? Hopefully I'll be able to pick up pants for cheap.

I <3 my Teknic gear...sad if true :(

****** if true...their jackets and pants fit me perfectly and I can buy blind online and be sure of the perfect fit.

Hmmm I might as well pull the trigger on the freeway jacket. Seems to be a solid jacket for cold riding. Any one own one? How does it vent in the heat?

I have the 2012 version of the Freeway jacket, the matching pants too. Jacket is nice and has some great features. Doesn't vent too well in the heat. about the same as riding a non-perforated leather jacket. Have yet to overheat though and I've ridden in some stupid hot days. Without the liner, I find the jacket gets super cold below 20c, worth it to pack the liner or a long sleeve shirt if you're expecting a chilly evening or something. Would be nice if the liner was that mesh material that most jackets use, but that's just nit-picking. With the liner, I'm good down to around 5c with a light long sleeve shirt. Doesn't look like it would do much, but it makes a world of difference.

Amazingly, using it for the past 25-30k km I have yet to properly test how waterproof it is. I've ridden in some light rain, as well as short heavy bursts, and it's done fine. Have yet to properly test it in pouring rain for hours on end.

I've crash tested it for what it's worth. It was only on grass, but fast and hard enough to break my forearm and bruise/possibly fracture a collarbone. Can't blame the jacket for any of that, and it came out fine with only some minor rash.

Overall very happy with it, wouldn't hesitate to buy it again if it were on sale.

Just curious....was the forearm break caused by lack of protection in the forearm area, or by jamming it into the ground? I noticed in my textile jackets (Freeway & Rev'it Defender) that the elbow forearm area is not as good as my old Frank Thomas leather jacket, it seems to move around and is looser fitting.

Seriously? Would have never expected it to happen.

Teknic was one of the best brands as far as bang for the buck gear goes.... they'll be missed.

I doubt it, but you never know. The GPS log said I was doing about 100km/h directly before the accident, I scrubbed off a bit of speed, so say I was probably doing about 60-70km/h when I hit the ground. Didn't really roll much to absorb the impact, just supermanned straight into the ground. http://www.fz6-forum.com/forum/fz6-general-discussion/46701-had-boo-boo-blue-ridge-parkway.html

They're not. I spoke with a rep today at work, they're just going through a change in ownership. They already have their next season products in production.

Good to hear, looks like there are a few Teknic fans in this thread. Any idea if they're honouring warranties at this time?
