TD Insurance and alarms

Ya I went with TD and they told me I couldn't be covered for theft unless I had an alarm installed. I said if I had an alarm I wouldn't worry about theft. Crazy policy but great rates.

They have a specific list of alarms, just ask them about it. Pay $200 to save $1000 a year? sign me up.

How do you save a grand with TD by installing alarm? My insurance went up $12/mth when I went from liability only to full coverage after got Scorpio SR-i900 on the bike.

They will also insist your alarm be "professionally" installed so consider the cost of having a reputable shop do the install for you. Who ever gave you the quote at TD should have told you the specific functionality they require for the alarm. Two of them are engine immobilizer & battery backup - that much I know.

My quote from TD was over $500 a year cheaper than going back to State Farm.

If you want an alarm system for your bike, I have a Scorpio here that I took off mine when I bought it. PM me if yur interested.

Yes, they require specific functions, but they don't check for 'professional installation'.
