Tail Bags

Amazing looking bag, but 20L is pretty small, at least for me. My tank bag alone is 17L, costs a hell of a lot less than that as well

It looks to be high quality, doesn't hang down so it shouldn't scratch the paint and it's waterproof without using a cover. I want to be able to fit a couple pairs of jeans and a few t-shirts as well as a few essentials. Just enough for a weekend trip.

If you can wait for delivery the twisted throttle dry bags are great. Got mine from a vicious cycle a week ago. Great quality, similar price to the kriega but larger capacity.

For bare essentials I'm sure it's going to be fine, just think of what you need for a trip. Simple things like a can of chain lube, pair of shoes, warmer sweater, etc. take up a significant amount of space.

For the past while I've been surviving with a 60L tail bag, plus 17L tank bag. Regardless if it's for three days or eight days, I seem to take the same stuff. Your experience may vary.

I went with a 20l and two 10l bags which is a great, versatile setup. And I got them at Oakville Yamaha, of course! Top notch place with good people.

My Kriega setup has treated me very well over the years and you can strap on extra bags to your base setup to increase capacity.

I use the US20 for commuting and I have a couple US10's to add for travelling.

Their current setup allows for up 70L capacity....

Oakville Yamaha are the only seller I ever heard of in Ontario. They are also the Canadian distributor so they should have pretty much whatever you need.

I use a US-20 on my bike and a US-10 on my bicycle, and they're great.

How much stuff can you fit in the 20? I just want to take a couple pairs of jeans, a few t-shirts, one hoodie, a pair of shoes and a shaving kit. Doable?

I doubt it. Keep in mind the 20L is the outside dimensions too. But I can only use it for day rides, overnighters would require something more.

Not the answer I was hoping for but now I don't have to waste my time trying it. I'll either have to get a 30 and a 20 or look elsewhere. I can get a lot more capacity for less money in another brand and this probably won't get too much use anyway.

Thanks for the replies.

I use my 20L for commuting to work; pants, shirt, t-shirt, socks, workout gear (shirt, shorts, socks, underwear, towel) and still have room (I attach a 10L to hold my lunch with freezer packs so my clothes don't get wet).

Oakville Yamaha is fantastic; I'd take to the store what you're looking to pack and I'm SURE they'd let you try it out (providing it's clean, of course).

Thanks for the suggestion and providing the links but I don't think I could trust it since there's no way to attach the straps to the bag, you just have to cinch it down.

I would doubt it if I hadn't tried it too. The Rok straps are amazing in how well they work and I couldn't believe how secure it was until the bad was in the bike. These aren't your normal bungee cords. I used a 30 litre MEC bag on my recent trip to the dragon and had no issues whatsoever.

This is what I got http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/7054/ 66L total capacity, daisy chains to link bags together and to attach to bike, comes with plenty of straps, the bottom bag has an insert so it holds shape even when empty, top bag is accessible from either end when on bike, bottom bag is accessible even when cinched to the bike too. Also comes with a multi purpose compression strap, handle, shoulder strap. Can link it lengthways or widthways across a seat or on top of existing side cases or topboxes.
