I was using the cycling backpack you can see in this pic to commute to work with.

I never found it particularly comfortable and it was obvious to me when I was wearing it.
Based on recommendations here I went away from my usual Icon gear and decided to go with the Ogio Mach 5. Why not a Kreiga? Well, the main reason is that this backpack is going to be used for commuting and small trips and it is really well setup for this use with the features it has.
Here it is when I first got home.

Out of the bag and one of the first things I noticed was how nice the padding was on the back.

The Mach 5 comes with this nice holder for your cell phone, wallet etc that is on a strap that goes around the lower front when you are wearing it.

I am driving bus now and my needs are different than when I was commuting to drive local truck or work in the office on logistics. The Mach 5 has nice shoe holders built in to put your shoes in so that they are properly stowed while you are wearing your motorcycle boots. The Mach 5 also has a cool padded holder to keep an extra visor on in this section as well.

There is a slot in this section to put a tablet, another slot for a laptop, pens etc. Perfect for the office commuter or student. It gives me a spot to put my itineraries, route maps, directions etc.

Not sure how strong this loop is. In an ideal world the backpack will hang up behind me on the bus

I had not been on the bike in a bit because this project had gotten sidelined and I needed some parts.

The backpack gave me the perfect excuse to go for a ride on my day off and see how it felt compared to the cycling backpack I had been using. So, I loaded the backpack up the same way I had been loading the cycling backpack. Oddly enough, even though the storage space is comparable between the two packs the Ogio seemed to hold more and have room to spare. Must be how the space is allocated. There was more space in the Ogio and now I had my spare visor (clear) inside the backpack which I never kept with me before.
As soon as I put the backpack on I knew it was money well spent. It practically feels like you are not wearing one compared to the way the other pack felt on my back. In motion the pack is perfectly weighted on my back and nothing was flapping in the breeze at speed. Best of all once I stopped and tried to get some items out I knew where to find them because of how the pack's compartments are configured.
In short this is an awesome motorcycle specific backpack for commuting, short trips, students etc.
