Hey it's a days ride south and very worth while - and catch the Corning Glass museum on the way back.
The SR71 and the Shuttle were the mindblowers as well as the Enola Gay and a Concorde which I've flown on out over the Atlantic and back. They had a deal on for $800 out of Toronto a couple decades back....2200 KPH !!!!
I was quite pleased to see my fav sailplane in the pantheon as well. Many fond memories of cruising around in that lovely plane.
SUch a comfortable and quiet plane with amazing visibility and sooo easy to fly and land.
All of those planes were flown into the airport there ( the shuttle piggy back on the 747 )
The downtown segment has the Spirit of St. Louis, the Mercury capsule and the Wright Flyer
A three day trip to Washington and back including the Smithsonians is well worth planning and easy enough to have some fun in PA if you have a bit more time.
Corning can be done in a day.
