stuck in pouring rain 2 hrs from home ;/

atleast it's not snowing!

I got lucky today, I beat the rain by 5 minutes to work and beat it back in the evening commute.

My best advice is If you don't have rain gear, then don't mind the drizzle or don't ride, and sunny or not always have your rain suit with you, at all times. Worked out amazing for me ( it didn't matter in a hail storm though).

Yeah - had gear with me ( love the Burgman for that ) but beat the rain home after a lovely couple of hours N and East of Guelph.....

I actually WANT to get into the rain to try some new gear......go figure....

The Tstorms are small but spectacular tonight......

The rain pattern was funny this afternoon. I went from full sun on the 401 at Highway 25 to almost full dark and heavy rain at Trafalagar Rd through Hurontario and back again to full sun at Dixie Rd and 401. Spent 15 minutes at Sayal, and had full sun and dry roads all the way back to Cambridge.

hi guys just made it home lol... wasted some time at tim hortons and mohawk slots... all wet and cold.. im not taking chances with rain anymore lol .. until i get rain coat

the good side is im up 160 courtesy of mohawk lol

goodnight

That should cover the cost of a good rainsuit!

Years ago a friend and I were out for a ride and left our rain gear at home; it was clear when we left. Well we ran into the worst downpour I have ever seen. We just kept riding; once you are soaked to the skin it does not matter anymore. I now keep the rain gear in one of my side cases at all times!

You don't want to be caught in these even with a rain suit - that was Kitchener last night and I was in Guelph with a lovely dry ride.....go figure.

get off safely and wait it out.

been through a couple where even keeping the bike upright stopped was a challenge and the rain was horizontal and a deluge.

The one up on the 407 at 410 last year was wild.

The cells are small but intense and blow by quickly......I made the error of thinking I could get around the swing down to 410 before it arrived......wrong......

Someone saw a funnel like this nearby I found out after.

Tip .....take the time to get the seals and neck in place properly - soaking inside a rain suit is sometimes worse than just getting soaked.
an extra bit of attention before the rain makes it far more comfortable.
I like suits with hoods....makes it easier to avoid rain down the neck.

lol yes.... good point. it is fun riding in the rain, but only when have the proper gear ;-). I would be tempted to try riding in the winter one day, see how that goes... the little cbr125r does well with those skinny tires.

Lol scary... I was near Guelph yesterday... was raining hard.. minor floods on streets.

Also good advice tips for the rain suit... never thought of that. But how would one ride with a hood? wouldnt it get blown off at high speeds?

Beautifuly skys... at 3am in the morning I could not see anything but heavy fog and frogs jumping ! lol.

Could you guys recommend some good rain pants? .. got the jacket from revit ... needs pants now

I like frogg toggs, they pack up small and have never let me down, through heavy down pour or the light drizzles.

I always keep my rain gear in my left pannier, which has always been designated my riding gear pannier. Keep rain covers for my boots if I am not wearing my sidi boots, plus my frogg toggs, and usually 2 pair of rain gloves. Rain or shine, its all enjoyable if your dressed right.
