Stop sign close to GP

Everytime I go to GP bikes I ask myself what is the point of stopping here??? Southbound on Hopkins as you come towards Champlain Ct. Right turn only and no traffic coming from your left. Doesn't make sense IMO.

iirc, there's also one going the other direction on that corner as well. i bet an unmarked cruiser could generate a lot of revenue for durham region by just sitting there between 10am and 6pm, every day. that and i'm guessing some people took that corner at slightly higher than marked speeds. . .

I've thought the same thing. I think it's because transport trucks use that road, and if opposing traffic is stopped, it allows a transport truck to be able to make that turn because — being so narrow there — it would need to cross over into the opposing side to make the turn.

IIRC, I think you used to be able to get into the parking lot there. left off of hopkins.
