Stone to the rad!

Can anyone think of a downside to a rad guard? If not, why wouldn't all bikes have one?

decades ago I had someone vandalize my rad. They punched a hole in one of the lines/tubes with an ice pick or similar. After trying to get it sorted, I resorted to just crimping the spot, cutting the one tube and rolling the ends tight. I figured one tube in the multitude wouldn't matter too much. I was right.

Update:

After an unsuccessful search for a used rad, I took it to a shop where it was epoxied and pressure tested. After about 1000k, no leaks.

85.00 + tax.
