"Sport Touring Ontario" and "VFR in GTA"

Looks like the Sport Touring group is growing fast. Thanks for joining, we'll see if it works out.

If you just started riding and still wear diapers - please don't bother - there will be some long trips, involving highways and darkness. Not good for M1s. Practice in your local parking first.

If anyone's interested in learning group riding, contact me privately instead and I can meet up and explain the basics or have a short newbie ride.

On the other side of the spectrum - if your idea of fun is wheeling on 401 in your t-shirt and sandals, please stay away as well. Cheers!
 
Is there a web based version of this, or is the idea to exclude people who don't have an iphone or android?
 
I just joined the Sport Touring group ....hopefully I'll be able to get out on a few rides with you guys this summer
 
Seriously though, the idea is not to exclude but to embrace the technology that wasn't available to us few years back. As much as I dislike social media when it's used for self-validation and attention seeking, smart phones do open up new ways of communicating. I'll still post rides on GTAM.

Well, some of us prefer to still communicate using a screen larger than the palm of your hand. I see the advantage of portability, but for many, it's still the norm.

And what's with the Aboriginal insensitivity :)
 
I see the advantage of smoke signals.....I was goona be down to that if the tow truck in Pennsylvania hadn't finally arrived 11 hours later.

Every bit of powered gear I had was down to the red - even the bike battery...of course no matches....hmmm.

I think it should be web accessed as well. I prefer the big screen

Send them a note to that affect. ....request a desktop version with alert.

It looks like a new app, still in almost a beta stage. I'm sure they'll work on it. Not certain how well they reply to input but worth a try. I think it's Spain based?

MacDoc - if you want to upgrade your smoke signals, I heard the latest thing kids are raving about are messenger pigeons. ;)

Ah ... The Doc & I are both in tech, one in hardware and one in software - go figure.

On a side note, other than the portability of information, productivity on a "Smart-Phone" is weak at best.
