This is one of my major complaints with the licensing system. Orangeville is not exactly the middle of nowhere, but we're close enough to the GTA to be used as a testing alternative for GTA residents. The result is the vast majority of driver testing appointments are booked up months in advance by Brampton driving schools for Brampton residents. The problem is with the G2 exit road test. There is no 400 series highway within distance for those drivers to demonstrate they have the skills to operate a vehicle on a multi-lane expressway during their test. It's no surprise to me when I see Brampton drivers are over represented in accident statistics on the 410 or 401.Being able to take your exam in the middle of nowhere, when you live in TO for example. There's a reason why several Brampton driving schools have been decertified, over the last 10 years or so.1) CBC did a report on drivers paying cash to get their G-1s without having to write the test.

4) Large trucking companies can train and certify new drivers. It's in their financial interest to speed up the process in the very competitive market
5) Google / YouTube have lots of schools promising passes
6) People living in the GTA and therefore driving in the GTA go to outlying areas for their road tests. Then they come back to the GTA unprepared for 400 series highways and GTA congestion.
7) A commercial driver doesn't have to read English or French, our official languages. How do they get warnings of unusual conditions?
8) No fault insurance spreads the blame instead of targeting the bad drivers.
Add this to the list. Worth the 20 minutes. There's a reason why several Brampton driving schools have been decertified, over the last 10 years or so.
If the bumps are too high, you can complain, and someone’s brother in law will come, scrape them off, then put down new lower ones.My wife complains as there is one street in Barrie with speed humps and I put my tires through a gap and run hers over the hump. That works fine at the speed limit. I might be able to straddle the hump but I'm not convinced my car would clear and plastic oil pan means things would get expensive fast. Many people slow down to 10 km/h which is an expected but insane consequence of the infrastructure installed.
Because they stupidly pursued what they thought would be a source of revenue, rather than it being about public safety.Brampton still has a $34M loan used to buy their army of speed cameras. Now they have no revenue, a pile of cameras they have no use for and a loan that must be paid. Morons.

Until some politicians start going to jail (or the gallows), they will continue to loot with impunity. The 78m they paid for the building is another scandal.. they knowingly over paid for the property.
Do you mean city hall? I worked with the son-in-law of the developer, decades ago. He mentioned that the developer was trying to buy up any private parking lots in the area, because he knew they had under-supplied parking for the building. They also hadn't included a finished basement area, because they knew that it would get added on later. The 78m they paid for the building is another scandal.. they knowingly over paid for the property.
No, Brampton bought a building for a ticket processing centre. They were hoping other munipalities would use Brampton as their ticket management provider. All about the safety.Do you mean city hall? Wow.... And these fukers want more of our money to piss away, then raise property taxes for this level of incompetence. No, Brampton bought a building for a ticket processing centre. They were hoping other munipalities would use Brampton as their ticket management provider. All about the safety.
175 Sandalwood Pkwy. City paid 10M over what their appraiser said it was worth. The seller had bought it three years earlier for 32.5M. Brampton paid 78M. The seller got citizen of the year in 2023. So being the best at grifting gets you citizen of the year. That's peak brampton.

Did Brampton council overpay for $78M property and building housing ticket processing centre for soon-to-be-banned photo radar?
The property at 175 Sandalwood Pky. W. sold for just $32.5 million in 2020 just three years before city council approved a deal to buy it for $77.9 million.www.bramptonguardian.com
