So, Like the topic says. I need new tires and i have been looking into the Pirelli Angle GT Tires and they look and seem pretty decent for mostly street and highway use. Still not sure, I read and watch vids but still can't decide. Gsxr guys what do you use?

It is more of a touring tire than a sport tire, so your style of riding matters, but they do have good side grip compound and really long lasting center section. I've had Angel ST and now GT, both quite good. Got about 12K on the GT with lots of tread left, the original BT015 were at the wear bars at less than 6K.

Im not much of a track guy or aggressive rider. I need a good tire that can grip well in wet and dry weather and can last me a while. I was also looking at the sportmaz Q3 and Diablo. It's hard to decide. Some said the Angel GT is nice for the gsxr if you are the distance rider type, said grip is still awesome and wet performance is good also.

Sounds like this tire is good for you. I'm on my 2nd rear of the ST. I put 20k km on the 1st. Really good tire. I've tried different makes of tires & haven't been happier ; Dunlop(qualifiers, D207, d208); Bridgestone bt016.

Another thing is this sport touring tire doesn't need to be warmed up as much before going out.

Most people will tell you you can't outride that tire on the street

bt 23 were nice tires as well. i got 12000 trashed km on them.

I know a little about tires but you seem to only want advice from GSXR guys so I'll just move along.....

Advice from anyone is nice. I have a gsxr so was wondering on thoughts from other guys who have similar bikes. The more advice the better as they say.

I originally had the Super Corsa's on my Triumph Daytona. I'm not an aggressive rider and often ride in bad weather and have nothing but good things to say since switching to the Angel line. I first switched to the ST and got almost 20K out of them and found their cold and wet weather performance more than offset any perceived loss of dry weather performance. I recently switched my rear to the GT and have the same opinion. Glad I switched.

BTW, I see you are in Petawawa. If you are willing to ride into Kanata you can normally get Kanata Honda to match Pete's superbike price. All you need to do is ask for Toby :D and he'll get you the tire and arrange for an appointment to have them installed.

Awesome thanks.

So i guess the Angel GT line is decent. Petawawa is far from anything so riding a lot to get anywhere is a normal thing. getting good mileage is important without having to sacrifice performance. I like the rosso ii but mileage is close to 6000km? hmm hard choice to pick a tire lol

I did a cabot trail trip with those tires & encountered cool mornings along with wet conditions. Couldn't have bought a better tool with me. Plus with hard riding on the trail, they never slipped

Dunlop Roadsmart 2's are pretty good, my set has about 14,000km on the front and about 12,000km on the rear with a tonne of life left. Never had 1 slip up not even in heavy rain, with full luggage too.

Someone said something about the contiattack 2 tires are really good for the road compared to pirelli he would go with the attack 2 tires. Thoughts?

You're over thinking it.

You're going to get 1000 different answers. Many people think one particular tire is the best. If you want a tire that's going to last a while.. ANY modern multi-compound sport touring tire will serve you very well and there are lots of options.

Bridgestone BT023, Dunlop Roadsmart, Conti Road Attacks, Pirelli Angel, etc, etc, etc. Call around, or check the vendor section and see who has what on sale.

lol - Sooo sensitive

Get out of here you stinky Kawi guy ;)

Own a GSX R750 and did ~20,000 with the Angel ST. The wear bars are finally showing so I'm swapping them out this season. I did all the thunder storms this summer (sadly), knee dragged ramps, and other hooligan tactics with them on. They also don't explode when attempting top speeds so the Z rating isn't bullcrap (closed course tested of course).

The only downside is that there is an obvious dry grip difference between these and their sporty cousins. Trying to find a road in flat *** Ontario to need sporty tires without going 50 over though was impossible for me last season. Also, as you noted, most sport tires from general census implode around 6,000km and cost around the same. So, imo, Angels all the way!

They also provide better grip than sport tires in cold conditions if you're into that sort of thing lol

If sport bike riders are interested in ST tires for their bikes to increase their mileage and keep good but not track handling characteristics...I have tried Angel ST's on my ST bike, for ST type riding, i.e. not track, and they are *excellent*.

Michelins PRIII's are better yet...IMO, and the best ST tire I've ever used.

Better turn in; better tracking; and better grip near the edge than the Angels, which were the best I used before I tired the PR III's, but the Angels do stop a little better.

I highly recommend them.

GSXR guy here.. I have a mint set of Michelin Pilot Road 2 (2CT Dual Compound) that I'm taking off my bike this spring and replacing with a set of Pirelli Rosso Corsa's (I plan to get into tracking a bit this summer).

The Michelins will last a million miles and have less than 2K km on them (my bike has only got 15K KM on the dash). I'd be willing to sell them quite cheap if you're interested. PM for details.

Pros of the Michelins:
- VERY long life
- Dual compound so it corners well when leaned over because the rubber is softer on the sides
- Good in rain, quite good in rain actually

Cons:
- Not a track day tire

I've never seen someone try to pimp their tires so hard
