I really wish they would make an example of drivers who make a left turn like that. CTV makes note that the driver is pregnant... what has that got to do with anything? Free pass because driving is harder for her?

Now, I truly feel for the rider but folks -- if you ride you have to be aware of everything that happens around you. I can't guarantee that I would have escaped his fate, but I watch for slowing cars, left turn signals and given the distance available for an evasive maneuver I think I would have defensively avoided this collision.
