I want to ship a part from New York over to Ontario, what si the best and cheapest way to ship a part from this side of the border to that side. (I would normally just carry it across, but am not planning to make any trips in the next couple months.

go USPS...
Avoid Fed-EX, UPS, and the other ****ers that charger broker fees.
If you want to save more money go non priority.

Agreed with previous posters, last time I received something by USPS, it was $5 brokerage fee plus HST.

Depends on the size and weight of the package. FedEx and UPS don't charge brokerage fees on Express services, just duties and taxes, if any. If it's light enough and you know a good FedEx reseller ( cough cough ) you can get a great rate and have it the next day.
