selling a motorcycle

I am first time seller.
But I am wondering what is proper way, sequence of events.

1. How do I accept a certified cheque? (should I?)
2. How do I/when do I cancel my insurance?
3. I am required to deliver the bike, when do I deliver it? (What do I have to make sure to do first?)

1. As long as the certified cheque is legitimate you're ok. You might want to ask the buyer to have the certified check done at the bank with you there. I would go with cash for peace of mine.
2 & 3. Call the broker or insurance company ahead of time to let them know you will be selling your bike and to have your policy cancelled at a specified time or after x:xx time when the transaction has been completed.

I would go with the guys above me. Cash is better just be careful. Its always good to have a friend with you when your making a transaction just to be on the safe side. Best of luck.
