Security chain lock suggestion?

I am going to park my bike in the condo this year, anyone know where I can get some uncuttable chain locks? I want to find ones that are thick at least 16mm...

Thanks

I contacted them just now, waiting to hear back but i think the shipping to canada plus the cost of the chain would be well over $500. I am already paying quite a lot for insurance already, about half of what the bike worth. I am on a 7 month payment plan with TD, if it gets stolen will they still charge me for the remainder of the insurance?

Yes...mostly. Depends on when it's stolen maybe. Your premium is used up during the summer months, but paid over the year id that's your payment schedule.

Think about your mental insurance. Comfort level with a bike in a condo.
Do you have options to store it away from the condo within walking distance. Or bike riding distance.
Nothing is foolproof.
I think we all know if they want it that badly nothing is going to stop them.
If you really want something like that chain. Call around, Locksmiths.
Here is an example. Edwards Hardware......Tell them is for a motorbike. One of the guys there rides.

I've got a parking spot underground but nothing to chain my bike to. I'm relying on nobody wanting a 250.

I'm not quoting your post in case you wanna edit it out.

After admitting your general area and the fact that youre parking in a condo, you have no choice at this point but to find a storage that's at least a 5 min drive. Becuase I guarantee you your bike won't last 3 seasons.

Thieves watch these threads. It's a shame you just gotta be careful what you put out there.

Dude, parking a nice bike in a condo is just asking for it to be stolen.

Make sure it's insured for theft and buy the 19mm Almax with the Squire lock. It's pricey, but worth it.

It won't stop a determined thief however.

If at all possible, keep the bike at a friend's house garage.

Good points.

I have my bike parked in a condo near Bloor and something.
It has a hidden camera and a hidden pit bull, which has not eaten in 3-10 days.
The pit has penchant for people touching my bike. Starts to eat you from the feet up and does not stop. Loves to hear screaming from bastards like you.

Got the chain with Squire lock, worth every penny. 3 years and no incident. The chain is heavy like a minivan.

I hear that the undercover Police are setting up stings in condo`s.
They have hidden cameras set up for proof in court.
Prison time is guaranteed.
Vans especially are watched coming and going.

Parked at yonge/finch condo and had no problems personally. That was a 300.

Depending on the condo staff. Some bld's in the area are HORRIBLE. Anything with a yonge St addy at yonge/finch is a bad idea.

If that's true, that's great news. I'm all for bait bikes, the layman would probably say it's a non issue and a waste of tax dollars, but anyone within the circle of bikes knows that **** is getting out of hand and the criminals aren't being pursued hard enough. I'd rather cops bust real crimes (ie theft) than sit on their radars all day because that's the real waste.

Last I heard of a bike thief being caught was that bike theft ring in the gta being busted. This is great on the larger scale but something needs to be done on the small scale.

Plus sting operations are just hilarious. Nothing like watching a self proclaimed tough guy/gangsta getting reduced to the nobodies they are when the cops put the bracelets on them.
