Scorpion Helmets

I've been in 2 accidents, both with a Scorpion exo 400 helmet, and I've come out on top everytime. I'd get another for sure.

P.S love the American History X reference.

Scorpion makes extremely good helmets. I cant afford to fall down in Arai's at the track so i choose scorpion, and would put the bell rs-1 on the same level.

The scorpion 1000/1100 is really heavy tho, apart from the drop down visor the 700/750 is a better helmet for weight.

I have a Scorpion EXO 400, and I love it. I rode it for 10 hours in a row last week.. twice. Didn't feel uncomfortable at any time. Make sure its nice and snug on your face..once they break in they feel perfect. I definitely wanna try the 1000/1100

I have an exo-400 as well.. I definitely find it comfortable. Can any other owners comment on noise level compared to other brands ? I find I can't ride without earplugs..

yeah i have an exo 400 and it's pretty good, although heavy compared to the sportier lids.

about the noise: there is space for your ears located in the helmet. In my shark s900, this space is covered with soft foam, so wind doesn't rush up in the empty space, right next to your ears.

I wish the EXO-400 fit my head properly

I picked up an EXO-1000 a couple of months ago. They are on clearance now for around $124. I've been very happy with it. I love the internal sunvisor which is a must for me. The QWest is probably a better helmet but it doesn't include an internal sunvisor. The scorpian's are known to be noisy. I can attest to that. I have to wear earplugs in mine if I go more than a few kilometers and especially if I hit the highways. Noise is subjective of course, different bikes, height, windshield or not, etc...but I think all things being equal a Scorpian EXO1000/1100 will be louder than the QWest.

I think motorcycling in general is a sport that you really need to do your homework on before making purchases! You just can't do extended tests on some expensive things, like gear and helmets and bikes of course!

i have an exo1000. nice lid but i cant use it for too long. too hot and too heavy for summer. it aggrevated a cervical disc injury a couple summers ago. i took to wearing a lighter/cheaper zox for summer.
over xmas this year i got a new helmet and love it. I considered the Shoei Qwest or RF1100. Tried them both on. Ended up with the RF1100. Qwest is nice but did not feel right. i think its made for more of
a rounder head instead of my oval shaped noggin. Love the RF1100. nice and light and very good airflow thru the vents.

I have the exo500...worth every penny! Though I'm new to riding and I don't have any other helmet to compare such as weight, form factor etc, I have not felt any discomfort wearing it. I chose Scorpion because it fit best out of all. Initially wanted the exo700 but it sold out of the graphic version I wanted. An extra $50 I decided not to complain. An added bonus is the dropdown visor which is great for those sunny days, plus I wear eyeglasses so don't need to buy a tinted visor just yet. :)

Have an EXO1000 and a RF1100.

EXO1000 only has one con, and I don't know if this is across all Scorpion helmets or not, the ventilation is non-existent. However, it does not fog until you get to like...0 degrees =D

i like my exo 400.

just wish you could get a regular liner in the 1000 instead of that air pump thing for the cheek pads, the internal sunvisor would be nice but I find the air pump gimmicky.

this.

I have a 400 and a 1000. I love the 1000. it's not the best looking helmet in my lineup, but I feel it's my main commuter helmet...comfy, the internal visor keeps air fowing with the main visor up (plus the pump system is pretty decent for fitment).... I find the visor mechanism in the 400 is a bit weak, but the 1000 one is much more firm and closes tighter with less effort.

I have an EXO1000, a Shark RSX, and a Shark RSR2. The Sharks are nicer but the EXO was 1/3 of the price and I got the Sharks at half off. Definitely worth the $100 it cost me.

I have an exo 500. Good air flow. Visor shuts tight. Air pump is a waste IMO. Fit, weight are good, not great. Aesthetics could be better (they are rather round).

Overall, Scorpion makes a really good product for the price range. I don't think you'll find a better bang for your buck helmet around.

You won't feel like crying when it scratches, whether it's rocks pelting you on the highway or an accidental drop of the helmet. I've tried a few SHOEIS all of which fit me better and were lighter, but I can't justify the insanely high price point to actually purchase one yet. Maybe at some point later on. For now, the Scorpion does the job.

I have an Exo700 and a Bell Vector. The Scorpion fits better as it suits an intermediate oval head which mine is. The Bell is a touch rounder but the base of the helmet is not tight enough to my head and I find it very noisy. The Scorpion fits better, is quieter, aerodynamics are better straight ahead, not as good as the Bell from the side and Scorpion as far as I recall has the best anti-fog visors right now and the helmets are reasonably priced.
The only negative I have right now is the cheesy snap for the strap that is just vinyl, mine was torn and gone in year of use.
I'm not sure if I can get another one but I just tuck it in and it's no big issue.

I have an EX500 and compared to my icon helmet. I like my EX500. Virtually no ventiliation though, which sucks. I love the padding in my helmet though.
