Rotors on a 2013 Ninja ABS have grooves?

2013 Ninja 300 ABS. The rotors have grooves in them. Bike has been 5k in distance. Usually, having grooves in the rotors means wear right? It was taken to dealership in Burlington for inspection and they said that the new rotors have grooves on them with a special coating. Wondering if anyone can confirm? The dealership replaced the the brake calipers , but said rotors were fine.

The bike only has 5,000 km and yet they had to replace a caliper already?

I'm thinking he means brake pads (?)
That year had updates to the ABS module and CDI box as I remember.
Check with your dealer and insure those have been performed.
