rotella oil

Hey man, nock yourself out, If that is a good deal for you then good for you

I'm not putting the guy down, I think he is trying to be nice and make himself 100 bucks or so but calling it a deal that would make me drive to get it instead of going to my local store is a stretch for a few cents savings

Now if it is the 5 liter jug then it is a good deal

I am making about $2 a jug so even 20 i make $80 i thought i was being reasonable but not forcing anyone to buy it. i have seem the prices up in Toronto over $30 plus tax so your still saving $5 i thought that was fair.

which canadian tire are u getting the T6 from. I checked 2 and found the T only.
Leslie and lakeshore

Irocian you are been fair dude, no worries, any deal is a deal

I can never find the 4L jugs any cheaper than ~$35, even on sale at CT.
I'm good with this deal. Thanks Irocian.

5 litre jugs on sale at CT for $32.

Got 4 jugs today.

not to thread jack, but just curious: what's the big deal about rotella T6? I assume it's a good oil, given the demand seen on this thread. but why? and why is it that when I search for it on Cdn Tire's website, I only see the "T" version and it says for "diesel engines"?

thanks.

Once it was put in my bike, my Dads scooter, and my buddies bike they all rode a lot nicer. Smoother shifting etc :)

I had the opposite effect in my V-Strom when in California. Switched back to a Mobil 1 Synthetic and the bike shifted way smoother. Haven't used Rotella since. My thinking is you don't change oil that often and for something so critical, it is worth spending a few extra $$.

Let me get some things clear. Recently Rotella changed their formula and it is not recommended for SS, especially kawasakis zx6r( personal experience.

I used it last week and my clutch was slipping like crazy, which made me think it was gone, until i googled and realized people were having trouble with totella oil lately. So i changed the oil to Amsoil synthetic 10w40 and right now i have no problems whatsoever. Clutch works perfect.

You know what jaso MA is? Doing this would void this accreditation.

Money: Honda synthetic runs 16 + a litre for 90 dollars; Rotella T6, 32 dollars. That's huge savings. The only concern I have is my bike uses 10w30, and the Rotella is 5w40. Playing around with viscosity will increase/decrease burden on the oil pump. The oil pump will work harder to circulate the 40 oil. For me the Rotella oil is probably a good mid june to mid sept oil where higher temps will thin out the oil and not make the pump work so hard.

Most Walmarts on the US side of the border have T6 in stock for about $20 per 4l jug - I usually pick them up in Michigan when I happen to be there. I used to have problems finding it in Toronto until recently - but now Canadian Tire seems to stock it more consistently. It is predominantly marketed towards diesel engines (I use it in my VW TDI) but it does also carry API gasoline engine certification.

I use it in everything in my garage...6 bikes, and the diesel van I drive everyday.

I really hope the formula hasn't changed. DOn't want clutch slipping next week.

I changed my oil a week ago with Rotella T6 on my gsxr and no problems, I even rode to buffalo.

Engine and shifting are very smooth with new oil

Baljisi can you post some links to where you got that info?
