Well obviously it does need to be said cause you are suggesting that someone that actually wants to wear leathers should just wear shorts. Hence why I said do what you want with your own body...

Don't be paranoid, you can crash in full leathers and still get seriously injured.
Plus our summers here are pretty hot for leathers on the street.

Go with a 2 piece, it's more suitable for street use, just make sure you get something that has a 360 zipper.
LOL I always see this dude in the summer time driving down the road with cargo shorts and no shirt on, I wonder how he's doing these days.
Does anyone know if GP bikes actually stocks leather suits in store? Im checking out the website but I have no idea how leathers are supposed to fit so I was gona make a trip to GP this weekend to try them on firsthand. Kinda far from my area to make a trip and they only sell their stuffs online
I was at GP Bikes not long ago and they definitely carry a lot of leathers in-store.
Rider's Choice gave me a way better deal on my leathers, though.

There are some really nice textile suits too. Leathers are the best though. Ultimately you want to buy what you will feel comfortable wearing and not just have hanging in the closet. Over three years, I have collected gear for every occasion so that depending on the day(weather), I have choices and actually wear the gear.

Pick the riding you actually do and get gear that works. If your not already signed to a motogp team, there are a lot of options in textile that are very safe and some solid deals in leathers. I have a set of leathers that are slightly large, its not for any track riding ever but I can have shorts and T shirt underneath and meet friends on a patio and not melt. I wont buy branded leathers ie. HONDA on the back unless Honda will pay me (so I have none) and Fashion comes and goes, so pick a simple set and enjoy.
Its a good start.
