Today I was at Canada Computers and while there I picked a the rock-it speaker for the heck of it (only $10 why not), I decided to try it on my helmet (a beanie), I was actually surprised by how good it sounded, while I do admit it's not anywhere near my bike stereo system but hey not bad at all (rode all the way home with the speaker stuck to the helmet), came home and showed it to the wife, she tried it on her full face and man the sound was great, much better than the beanie. Now she wants one (the Rock-it 3) that have rechargeable battery!
It's not waterproof nor it's as good as headphone, but a cool gadget.
