RIP Goldwing

my dad lives in Windsor.

There's your problem :)

From this happening with the bike parked, it's got to be fuel leakage getting to someplace it shouldn't and igniting very shortly after the bike shut down, or something flammable that came in contact with the exhaust system (could be leaves, paper, etc), or faulty wiring. It doesn't take long for the exhaust system to cool down below the ignition temperature of most common materials after stopping the engine.

I'm just glad that your father wasn't travelling on it at the time it caught fire.

And the song, "In the Ghetto", made no mention of race when Mac Davis wrote the song as commentary on a problem in US society. Some guy named Elvis made it a hit song.

Wow! And the same problems on a larger scale today.
interesting

i love it when people thing tourers can't do twisties.
my dad used to ride the socks off his concours.

Any bike (providing it has lean angle) can be ridden like that. It's just a well ridden motorcycle.

:lmao:
it probably still runs better than a harley.

Lmfao! Guys signature from bandit.org "95% of all harleys ever made are still on the road, the other 5% actually made it home!" too funny.

The important question, what was your Dad getting for takeout?

I always stop just long enough to get ribs from tunnel BBQ

Even God hates those ugly, cumbersome Goldwings.

I'm not someone that is ever likely to get a Goldwing. but I have to say that you really don't know what you are talking about regarding cumbersome. (Ugly is a mater of taste.)

A couple of summers ago a friend in Calgary got me a 2010 Goldwing to ride for a 4 day weekend. We did over 2,000 km riding through the mountains.. she on her CBR600RR me on the Goldwing. While it isn't a sports bike or even a Sports Tourer the Goldwing is an amazingly good handling bike with incredible power all the while being quite smooth and comfortable. It was surprizingly good in twisties.. nothing like a sports bike but way better than it's weight and size would lead you to believe.

Not even close to cumbersome, at least when moving!
