Yeah that looks like it sucked that day for you, I check the weather daily, being a new rider I dont really want to get caught out in the bad stuff.
 
My bike was my DD for years (no car) and I have also done long distance touring on it--in both cases you better be able to ride in the rain. It is not really that bad as long as you have the right gear and you are a smooth rider.

Stop using your mobile device or camera while driving... That might be the bigger issue here then getting a little wet.

These people need to spend the weekend in an ER and see toes or feet getting amputated.
 
Haha, Fitz, you know how often I've ridden to work in the rain... guess you don't need to hear from me.

I mean riding in rain isn't FUN, but it can be done safely.

i do the exact same thing. I don't like sitting in damp clothes in the office and I don't keep a change there.
 
Jig-a-loo has been around forever, though it's new to Canada. It's a light penetrating silicone lubricant, not really much different from WD-40.

It's full of solvents though, so uh, I'm not sure I'd spray my clothes with it.
 
What? Perfed leathers are fine. You just get more wet.

I also wouldn't want to use jigaloo on leathers since the first aid info for skin exposure mentions double bagging contaminated clothing and waiting for "proper disposal".

Why not just spend $10 on a product meant for leather, specifically?

every champs or foot locker has waterproof spray for shoes... just buy that instead of some of a lube/oil

riding in the rain sucks but after finishing riding the other day during that flooding i felt like a champ
 
Be careful with the waterproof sprays..I made the mistake of using one on my boots and ohmygawd my feet can't breathe anymore, desperately trying to find a way to fix them back. I might have to buy a new pair :(

This is gonna sound ridiculous but I heard (and am thinking of trying) ev coconut oil helps get rid of bad silicone sprays..if that doesnt work Roomie where do you find that Doc Leather stuff?

I get it from a store in Orangeville. Google might show you elsewhere (I've never looked)

Diluted simple green. Soak. Clean with a rag. Try that a couple times and it should work. Just don't soak them and walk away.
