Riding Down Under - Tropical Cairns Australia

Well she's having an "adventure"

Puncture week
Impressed with the BMW1300

They saw a wallaby on the wrong continent so did we...you are supposed to report them as they are invasive
Sean and Emily are out for a 3-4 year around the world ride. They sold up in UK and are just coming up to the first anniversary so the bike is their entire home.
I'll go back and view from the start.
Em's slightly annoying at times but cute...and Hobbit sized. Emily 4' 11" and Sean 6' 2".
Where this adventure begins with an impressive bike.
That bike is crazy tech. Blind spot warning that lights up IN the mirrors.
Automatic braking !!!! Power windscreen with deflector wings. 30 ltr fuel. Multiple ride modes.
......
Keeping the feathers flyin' 🥳

Plucked chuck 🥳 on a chilly night

Move move on, nothing to see here 🤷‍♂️
So much for 11 hours sleep :cautious:

Don't recall seeing Noraly so buzzy 🐝
....
We enjoyed Kings Canyon and I was impressed partner doing the hike up those stairs as she was not 100%.
I have some lovely photos of Kings.

Slightly less than satisfying bolognese dish at Bowls club tonight but nice walk to and from. Mild night in tropical winter. Hearing aids actually useful for once.
Stability a bit better .....big sleeps 10 hours plus two nights in row maybe helps get my ear stones settled. I suspect that is the cause of the wobbles.

Vegging watching The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Decent picture, wonderful sound track.
Also had the 14" MacBook Pro propped up and getting a dose of ultra high HDR on the side. One reason I bought this model as the screen can hit 1600 nits with the correct feed. Breathtaking.
One day maybe something as good on the big TV but really there is little content. Still it is nice to see how good a feed can be

We've been to Kakadu twice. Worth the watch.

I'll take this given blank start 🤷‍♂️

Managed to scrape out 7 hours but very fractured periods. I'm dog sitting and despite the back door being open and no rain the young'un dog hasn't quite figured the "house broken" routine. :cautious:

The Super El Nino that is now in progress means more riding time but hotter temps as the monsoon gets interrupted. That is NOT good news for India and other nations that depend on the rains arriving in December. Fewer cyclones are a positive for Cairns. 🤷‍♂️
Tons of birdwings of both sexes floating around the back yard ...good to see.
A lucky capture from a few years ago...a dance in our garden...male below is smaller than the female above which can be giant.

the females are gorgeous and up to 20cm wing span.
They will float in the open door and most times find their way out on their own...the males being a bit slower in that regard. :sneaky:

I'm always happy when I make a decision and I will keep the spare pair of Momentum 4 that are coming this week. This review confirmed it.

First day I've needed the overhead fans. Lovely sunny day with 27.6 feels like 29.3C ...guess I can lose the layers. On such a winter day

Enjoying Sean and Emma on a loosely guided ride in China. I would want a guide too but the red tape and constant travel checks are a drag. The infrastructure tho is incredible.
Astonishing what China is doing ...feels post modern in some ways.
Props to the GS1300...now if I was 4-5" taller and 40 years younger
Incredible to see how the ICE pollution is way down with all the scooters etc mandated electric.

Following another pair ( not riders ) casually that have moved there from the US and are employed.

Puff puff....I recall what we felt like at 5k meters in Chile..
Wonderful riding road...
...
I've never seen Noraly so vibrant and fit. She is just a treat to watch and damn ...one of the best views of the Great Wall outside the main tourist centers. That was a dangerous bit of hiking/climbing. 21,000 km of wall....beggars belief.
enjoy

Nice day coming up - mixed cloud and sun.

Have a deal for a couple of Hungry Jacks chicken burgers with 31 gm protein each for $7.50 ea I quite like them and I can add a latte...trying to re-introduce coffee to my Ozempic digestive regime.
I forgot to take the shot on Tuesday and wondered why why hungry for pasta yesterday.
