Riding Down Under - Tropical Cairns Australia

Lovely temps in Cairns - ranging high teens to high 20s. Showers are annoying but rather that than drought. Quite windy each day.

Got a shock at the docs. My bathroom scale showed my weight moving up a bit from 107 kg.
Imagine my pleasant surprise when the tested scales at the doc showed 101 kg
Ozempic rocks. With an a1c of 5.4 - lowest in years I now have to be aware of low blood sugar.... boggled.
With the list of benefits growing rapidly glutides are getting into wonder drug territory as the licenced knock offs make it available for low cost to millions.
The massive diet industry is in tatters.
...
Big focus for me is getting 50 gm of protein daily. There is only 6.3 gm in one egg.
Tuna pretty cheap protein ...one pack is 21 GM for $1.90

and lower ecology cost than a can.
The kangaroo patties I make are very protein dense.
Kangaroo meat is one of the leanest, most nutrient-dense red meats available. It boasts an exceptional protein content of roughly 22–24%, with under 2% fat. As a wild game meat, it is entirely free from added growth hormones and antibiotics, while delivering massive health benefits.
Still 50 gm is a lot to get to.

Try sardines MacDoc, they have a lot of healthy nutients, and not very expensive.
Maybe some more rides!

Thanks, partner eat lots of them but not my fav sea food. Tuna first then smoked oysters, maybe crack a can of sardines next lunch.
just had a couple of small roo patties and baked beans. That will make my 50 gm for sure.- there are 6 in the baked beans.

Bike is running fine so no reason not to ride other than inertia. Catheter change today went well, new nurse practitioner was quick and painless and had a good chat about long covid which knocked her out for a couple of years. Friends partner still suffering/disabled after 5 years.
Quite glad neither partner nor I ever got covid and Queensland did very well controlling it. (y)

'bout time for a legit birdie 🕺

Scored a slightly damaged but working iPhone 13 mini for $100. Happy with that as my iPhone 7 is woefully dated.

My first step away from a touch button
The iPhone 13 mini remains a beloved unicorn for those who want a truly pocket-sized, one-handed smartphone. Featuring the powerful A15 Bionic chip, an excellent 5.4-inch OLED display, and highly capable dual cameras, it delivers flagship-tier performance.
