I rode last year for 4 months with an expired sticker,by accident of course,

It specifically states in my insurance( and I know 100% it states in every one else's as well)..you are NOT allowed to let someone else , other than people who are registered as secondary drivers/riders from operating your vehicle..

...if your friend takes ur vehicle and causes a crash , there's a chance that the insurance company will NOT pay out!

Can I lend someone my car?

In general, you can lend your car to anyone, provided that you have given your permission, that they are duly licensed to drive, and that the car has valid insurance on it. However, lending your car is not recommended.

YOUR policy may restrict you from allowing others from operating your vehicles, but that's definitely not the case for my carrier. Further, my experience is that most DO allow any licensed driver to operate a properly registered and insured vehicle.

Where the waters get muddied is when someone is the primary or regular driver of a vehicle but are not listed as such (as is the case with many parents who buy their kid a car but don't list them as the driver in an effort to keep the premiums lower).
