Recommend waterproof gloves

I am looking for waterproof gloves and it looks like the majority of them are also very warm, or not very waterproof. Does anyone have any recommendations for gloves that would be good when the weather is warm but the rain is strong?

I am slowly moving away from waterproof gear and using covers. These look like they would do the trick, and cheap. You can use the gloves you have now or get warmer gloves and not worry about how waterproof they actually are

Thanks for the link..I'll be getting a pair of those too. I have waterproof and warm gloves but I don't like the lack of feel for the controls with them.

I will be picking up a set next year as well. I have about 3 or 4 different pairs of waterproof gloves, they all only last so long. Once soaked, the gloves are a real pain to get back on, which is the worst when on a bike trip. Thats the reason I kept multiple sets of gloves, I could throw on a warm dry pair after a stop.

These covers would make life so much simpler in that regard and would pack incredibly small.

Just go to the dollar store and buy a x-tra large size of dish washing gloves. Pull them over your regular ones. Various colours are available!

They wouldn't breath though...after a while your leather gloves will rot. The lobster claws allow your fingers to move a little too in the Aerostitch ones.

I have used hte Aerostich Tripple digit gloves for about three years now. I have several pair of traditional waterproof gloves but find they all leak somewhat, and if water gets into them the lining pulls out when you pull your hands out. The Triple digit overgloves are small enough to fit in a pocket for when they are needed, and also provide an extra layer in very cold weather. The downside is that they are somewhat slippery. They don't breath but I haven't found that to be an issue as they are not a tight fit and fit over your existing gloves anyway.

I can't recommend a good pair but I can tell you one not to get.

Alpine star 'drystar'

They are warm and have a nice big gauntlet, but I Am always ringing them out after riding in any kind of a decent rain. I mean soaked like a sponge. They say waterproof on the packaging, but are no way waterproof in real life.
 
Try the Rev'It zoom or summit H2O gloves. They come with a liner and are waterproof. I picked mine up for $90 when on sale. I think they're about $120 on revzilla. Great gloves but get stinky if you don't air them out often in summer.
 
I put a notice in the Group Buy thread to see if any local dealers can get the Aerostitch ones at a reasonable price with shipping. If anyone is interested I would encourage you to put a post in there to help the dealers.

I specifically asked about the Aerostitch ones as they look to be the best quality from comments here.

I've had all sorts of "waterproof" gloves, and the above is the only real waterproof solution. The only drawback is that your sweat will not escape and will dampen your gloves from the inside.

The Aerostich will eventually leak at the seams in a sustained downpour, we've got two sets with the same problem. I have to continually treat them with Nikwax to keep them waterproof.

Most waterproof gloves have an inner waterproof layer, but the outer will become waterlogged and the minute you take your hand out and put it back in, the inside will become wet.

Plus, you can't beat $1.50 for a set of waterproof gloves in Hi-Vis Yellow!

Aerostich sells directly, not through a dealer network.

why would your gloves rot? you take them off when you aren't needing them to be water proof.
 
You're keeping water, salt and heat in for a while with leather...that's not a good combination. I used polyvinyl gloves for a while one winter with my normal gloves. Worked for a bit but any length of time and they start to accumulate too much humidity.
