Reasonable asking price for 2013 CBR250RA?

Hello.

I would like some opinion on reasonable asking price for a 2013 Honda CBR250RA. I originally got this bike from Ready Honda, in June of 2015. The bike had 3,330 km at the time and now it has close to 15,000 km on it. For most part the bike has no major damage, the only damage on it is on the left side. This is the way I got it from the dealer as the bike was under Used inventory. The damage is minor in nature, a small dent in the tank, and a deep scratch in the fairing, but you will not notice unless you look at it. I myself did not notice until couple of weeks after when I was washing the bike. And the left mirror vibrates a bit as its again bit broken (can easily swam for OEM mirror).

Outside of that the bike is mostly stock. Only non-stock parts are Yoshimura fender eliminator kit and Hotboodies front flash mounts. Oil changes and most mods were installed by Brampton Powersports and Frekeguy. Bike also gotten new rear/front sprockets installed, rear/front brake pads installed, new chain, and MOTUL 5.1 brake fluid all of this was done couple of days ago. So its brand new in most aspects.

Asking price is $3,500

Would you say the price is reasonable? My reason for selling is that I got a car during winter and as a 23 year old male, living in Brampton insurance is mad high. I can't exactly afford $8k year for bike and a car. Nor do I wont the bike to sit in my Garage for couple of years until I hit 25.

Asking prices for CBR250Rs in Autotrader are around what you're asking so I don't think you're out of line. I think insurance is going to make small bikes more attractive and desireable (and thus demand will go up as will the prices). It's also that time of year when people are looking to enrol in MSF courses and get their first bike. The 'A' -- ABS -- also makes the bike more attractive. I'd personally try selling it for your current asking price but consider reasonable offers.
 
I agree with a previous post, the asking price is in line what other 300cc bikes this age are being sold for. Again, don't lose the deal if someone comes with a reasonable offer.

I don't mind knocking the price down to $2,800 - $3,000. But I don't think going lower than $2,800 would be a reasonable offer. Would you say that's reasonable? Sorry, never sold anything in my life outside of a smartphone.

Yes sir. Summer hits and you have many people looking for a bike. Be it M2 riders or M2 exit riders, plus as you said 250cc are pretty decent on insurance and ABS gets you some savings here and there. I see Ninja 250/300 usually sell like hot-cakes on Kijiji in summer/spring time. But that's understandable as Ninja is P2, but CBR still get's its fair share of love I guess.
 
i just did a quick kijiji search. you would have to list your price at around $2800 at least.

if i was a new buyer, there are a lot of the same bike for around $3300 with less than 5000 km on them. the only incentive to buy your bike is if it is alot cheaper because you have higher KM. that's just my opinion though.

This sadly. Maybe it is my own mentality, but why would I buy a higher mileage used bike when for a few hundred or a thousand more I can get a brand new, better model? For reference, I got around $3000 for my 2012 CBR250RA back in mid 2014 with about 12,000km on it. Most were selling in that range or lower, plus the CBR300R was due out for around $4000 new. Also many Ninja 300Rs were selling in the high 3000s as well.

If I were the OP, and you have time on your side, I'd post for $2800 and see what happens. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the price had to be lowered to something more like $2500 for it to sell in spring, and even as low as $2000 to move it in late fall (when no one is really looking for bikes).

Yep. I seen similar thing on Kijiji. So in the end I would have to put $500 cheaper if not more asking price as the millage is kind of against me on the starter bike. 600cc are different game, and even so I seen a fully customized 03 GSXR-600 on Kijiji for $3000 that's with stands, exhaust, power commander and loads of other mods. But it had something like 125,000 km on it or something.

Probably one of my worst mistakes, getting a 250R instead of 300R with that nice $4k price tag and 3.9% fin. I got duped for my 250R, but you learn on mistakes.

Yep. This is sadly the ****** part with anything really, cars, trucks, bikes if it drives its gonna suffer from this. Millage is the key here. Less milage more you can ask for it. I agree with you on pretty much everything, for exception that the new 300's aren't much better then 250's. The new 300's are still single and still don't put much power out. If I knew better and if there was a Kawi dealer around I would have went with a Ninja 250/300. Sadly ain't any Kawi dealers in Brampton/Miss at the time, now Ready Honda also sells Kawi's but when I got my bike originally in June they did not have Kawi's. I'm lucky I went with cbr250r instead of that KTM RC390 lol, would be fun trying to sell that bike.
 
But mileage is really NOT the key. Most people take it as a holy grail and get burned all the time. Used prices are still way too high in Ontario specifically. Why buy used when price is too close to new is beyond me??? High price units, perhaps rare to get, yes I can understand .... But cookie cutter models .... buyers are simply not very smart, otherwise the prices would come down o where they should be.
