Rare bike for sale in the GTA

Not a thread about being for sale, but to talk about. Don't see these much.

For the mid 80's two strokes and MINT condition it's a seller market this year. I follow the NS400R and the last few that were mint sold for just under 15k.

He also has a rothmans ns400r and current bid is $8,000+ I bet it'll end around $13,000 or so that one.

My ns400r is much better condition. new bearings, coolants lines, and 90% NOS still in boxes body panels including tank. however not for sale.

in other words, "I bought this bike, but wasn't smart enough to check the RIV admissibility list for Ontario"

lol - I noticed that as well

He says all original, but looks like the front turn signals have been plugged and they're now in the fairing itself? I thought I remembered them with signals on stalks. Original tires? WooHoo ;)

He/She has several other nice bikes for sale .

I don't think so; beyond 15 years old, you can bring in anything from anywhere in the world as long as it passes basic safety inspection. Even in the US, their number is 25 years old, anything older than that can be imported without restriction.

Very cool bikes. Seller has had a couple of other interesting bikes up for sale in the past. Those bikes were on kijiji since the summer. If I remember right, his collection was from a decesed uncle. Some of the descriptions of the bikes weren't quite right.

starboy869, I was wondering what you picked up. Great bike the ns400r. I got a chance to ride an prestine stock one last year. A set of pipes would definitley make it a really fun ride.

There was a decent one up for grabs early spring for about $4500. Good price but the parts are rare.

I don't have many regrets but selling my RG500 Walter Wolf edition is one. Not to mention what I sold it for.

I have an 1986 NS400R. Almost complete. I'm just missing engine panels. I do have a lead on a set but $2000ea side is tad too deep IMO I'll wait like a hawk

My bike is a rebuild from a bare Clean Cdn VIN frame. All parts reconditioned (sandblasted and powder coated as req), all new fasteners, new bearings, new coolant lines, new this and that. My current engine is from a later model w/o the 2nd gear issue found on the 86 model. 9,000 of proven KM from the OD of that engine. Body panels are NOS. I might get the seat recovered as it's a bit faded.

Also I am debating on spending the coin and getting a 475cc kit from Ian at classic replica in the UK.

I do have a spare frame and papers for sale soon. Also I do have a lead on an engine with about 14,000 km.

Getting parts isn't too hard.

There have been a few 500 Gammas for sale on kijiji this year, asking $14-20K, 250 gammas around $4K.

I don't get it, they didn't make many of these, but the build quality is not stellar. Owners seem invested in a Ponzi scheme to try and boost the value, but I'm not they are actually selling. Rz500s are about as rare and getting $7K.

the auction speaks for itself. the RG might go for about $15k-$16k when it ends. that NS400R by last few that I know of sold for $14k.

the last year it has been a seller market for mid 80's two stroke and MINT biikes. I know of a couple junk rg500 for sale that aren't selling with low prices.

hell I just had a guy email me about ns400r asking if i'd take $9k cash for it and be here tomorrow.

if your inclined and wanted to build your own from a bare frame let me know. I have contacts and can supply full bikes in parts include frame with grey market vin (uk or jpn)

When I saw the title I thought it was for a black R6 or yellow GSXR :p was pleasantly surprised.

Many years ago I had a bike magazine and the bike of the month was a RGV250 with the RG 500 engine shoehorned into it.... The most beautiful thing I had ever seen, had a modded aprilia rs250 tail and the blue while suzuki race colour scheme, always wanted to try and duplicate it but the 500 two strokes just get more and more expensive each year.

Even titles marked salvage? I am talking about getting it licensed, not just registered as unfit/salvage.

My friend is rebuilding his. Makes me weak in the knees every time I see it.
