Times change. Get this: Glen fully braced my Z1 frame including rake change and lay down shocks. $200. Mind you, he lined up a bunch of Kawasaki frames and went to town. $200!! Can you get a tire installed for $200!! today?

Not going to do that. Never heard of this guy. I'll go by the cycle word article on break in. I'm not saying you're wrong but I've seen the opposite of what this guy claims with other people's bikes. I guess do what you want with your machine but I don't believe in the hammer it hard method.

I don't believe in babying it either. My friend has a dyno so when break in is done I'll get it checked and see what numbers come up.

Edit* after reading his article in full I am doing a lot similar to him. Quick burst up to 6000rpm ,not taking it past 100 km and letting the engine brake or compression stop itself. I'm just not pinging it off the limiter.

Keep both bikes. One to wrench and one to ride. Restore old bike to it's former glory. Once it's ready then sell the new bike!!!

I've gone grocery shopping on a VFR750. 2 grocery bags in each hand gently bumping off the fairing. Good memories.
 
A friend of mine has a CB750F that has been sitting in his garage since the 1980s when he bought it new. He'll never sell it. His previous bike was a Honda cb100 that his friend with an AMF Sportster used to make fun of as he blew him away. When he got the 750F he ran rings around the Sportster laughing all day. It was his only ride for school. Great times back then.

Ive never been a backpack guy, tank bags don't let the weight rest on your back. I had a bungee net but I had too much stuff and just decided it was okay to ride with it in my hands. It must have been really funny to see. I may have had more bungee'd to the back seat but I cannot remember.
