Princess auto trailer

I happened to be in the Hamilton location this week and noticed that they have a similar trailer to that of harbor freight in a box that you assemble.

The trailer looks to be built by snow bear and I believe it's the shorter version, say 4'x5 or 6'

I cannot remember the exact pricing, around $300

They also have the front chock that you bolt on for around $30 on sale

For your info

chock is good I use it on my trailer and a good deal, great for holing the bike up while you install strapping

I have heard many times over that you should grease the bearings on these since the little dab of vaseline quality grease is not adequate.

The trailer is a VersaSport 4ft x 4ft trailer with claimed capacity of 750 pounds, priced at $399.99. http://www.snowbear.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=119&Itemid=337

It's more money than the Harbor Freight version, but this one comes with torsion suspension on separate axle stubs on each side instead of the solid full-width axle on the Harbor Freight version.

The load capacity is a bit light for the usual trailer uses, but this kit could be great for someone with limited equipment and/or skills who wants to build a trailer to tow behind their bike. It looks like it would be fairly simple to cut the three cross-members to a narrower width more suitable for a motorcycle trailer and drill new bolt holes as needed. Length the tongue bar a bit, add on an unused car-top carrier that you may have laying around the house and you've got a usable and inexpensive trailer to pull behind your bike.

"Snow Bear Mfg" sells rails for these small trailers. Or go to a sheet metal worker and get a couple bent up out of 10ga black sheet metal.

here's my trailer, the way it's balanced with the bike on it is so that the tongue weighs about 50 pounds

The rail is over kill (it's channel steel bolted to a 2x8 board) but it works for me.

estimated weight of the trailer with rail is about 300 pounds or less. I would rather have one of those harbour freight trailers that i can put two bikes on...
