hey guys, so I read a lot on this forum buy not post much and I know everyone here is very helpful. That's why I wanted to ask for your opinions.

I want to purchase a 2006 SV650, completely stock with full fairings (dark blue). I found one with about 12k for $4750. do you believe this price is fair? I tried to look for different comparisons but with the SV's the price seems to vary a lot. Thanks!

That seems ok, given the time of season. Believe a friend picked up a '07 last year for roughly the same price but I don't remember the mileage. His was not stock, had a bunch of work done to it (for better or worse).

If it's been well taken care of that's a good deal.

I got my 05 SV650s at the start of last year with 26k KMs, no fairings (but a few upgrades like M4 full exhaust and power commander), for around $4300 if i remember correctly. Not a steal, but not a horrible price either. The seller turned out to be a prick who lied about it having HIDs and I found well over a dozen "performance enhancing" acorns in the airbox, but I love the bike. I've taken it to Key West Florida and back already without it giving me any problem at all. The fairings alone are $700-800 to buy new. Plus you're getting a newer bike with less than half the KMs as mine.

Regarding SV prices varying a lot, are you mixing US bikes with Canadian ones? I found SVs in the US are sometimes priced absurdly low, but was told the hassle of brining them up here and re-certifying is not worth the few k in difference. I recommend comparing with stuff on GTAM and Kijiji for a more realistic sample set.

SV's an amazing bike and will give you a ton of fun in the GTA because much more of its power is useable within the legal speed limit than inline 4s. Do the proper checks to make sure you're not getting a lemon, and the odds are very high that you'll love it.

Yeah, $5k is a very good deal for the bike Jampy00 is offering. I don't know him so this isn't a biased recco, but if he'd had that up at the start of last year, I'd have scooped that up pretty fast. I spent at least $700 to get mine new shoes (PR3s) and make it some carbon fibre lower fairings by hand myself.

As much as I love the look of the carbon fiber, I would not have made fairings as my first project had I known how much of a PITA it is. There's a good reason why that stuff's expensive lol.
