Powder coating

I am currently thinking about powder coating the wheels on my CBR. Can any one recommend decent shops in the GTA or West end that offer this service. What would typical pricing be and colors available?

Total Coatings in Stoney Creek did my fluorescent orange wheels and they still look good many many tire changes later.

I have also heard good things about JohnnyP.

If you enjoy a good Mexican standoff with you powder coating it's worth the drive to Burlington. Force Powder Coating.

Mike at Metalworks (link above) did a great job on my rims, bit of a drive for you as he's in Caledonia though...

should look up stripping technologies inc on facebook. they do amazing work. did a huge group buy for the toronto mazda 3 forum. maybe if there is enough interest we could get a group buy going here. and nows the perfect time before they get crazy busy in the summer.

so if you are interested let me know i dont mind contacting him and find out how many we would need to qualify for a group buy and what the discount would be based on how many people are included.

Thanks for all the responses, i will certainly look into these shops and see which one ends up the best for me. Really it comes down to quality, color and of course price :)

Just got my rims back from MetalWorks....and I like what I got back...

I picked up Gatekeeper's rims yesterday and met Mike and his wife Tammy who does the office stuff. They are really great folks and took the time to show me around and told me how they do the jobs. They are both into automotive sports and while they do a lot of industrial/commercial work their hearts are in cars, bikes and other "toys". They are looking to do more of this.

I was really impressed with Mike's care and concern t do the job right and I think Gatekeeper can second that as while he did a great job prepping his wheels, Mike felt they needed more and had them sandblasted.

He had 2 or 3 Harley frames in the lineup and I could tell from our talk that he knows and loves bikes too. I'll be getting my frame done there next winter for sure.

Check them out.

I am taking my rims here

got a great price, seen their work that was done for a member here, he was happy, and did I mention, I got a great price...

Another vote for Metal Works in Caledonia. They re-did some car wheels for me last summer. Turned out great. Will be using them again

Curious: What's a decent idea of what a set of wheels would cost?
Are you going to take off/install the tires? How about the wheel bearings? Are you going to tape/plug them yourself? Or do you want the shop to do everything for you?

Johnny p does some of the best powder coating that I've seen

I can vouch for Johnny as well, he did my frame, subframe, wheels, spring, swing arm, rearsets, passenger bracket/pegs, clip ons, sliders, axle blocks, & brake hose clamp. A+ prep work, great pricing, quality finish & good turn around time. I would highly recommend !
