On Wednesday I was touring around the general area and saw a sign about gravel road on Hwy 6 between PD and Jarvis. Today a local told me that road construction may start this week. I don't know if anyone can confirm but it might be worth checking if you don't like gravel.

I'm not going so I don't care. Other routes are available. Have fun.

I live in the area (hagersville) and travel that way several times a week. I will try and update this thread if road conditions improve.

Road construction on Argyle street right through Caledonia. Best to take the bypass.

Thanks. If they do rip it up possibly you can suggest an alternate. It seems odd that they wouldn't put off the work until after the 13th but who ever heard of governments using logic.

Out at dinner with a friend who lives in Dover and he said south of Jarvis is all ripped up and slow going. He actually came to Hamilton via Brantford to avoid the graven and slowness, said it added aonly 15 min more than normal travel. Get a map out a plan a alternative.
I don't have to plan as I have to work and sadly bike is still not running this year.... it's crap waiting for parts for a 30 year old bike.

You can still come down HWY 6 to Jarvis, then Head west on HWY 3, and any of the roads heading south will pretty much end up getting you to dover. Most are old tar chip roads but should be good to use, or just continue until you hit cockshutt road and head south, that will bring you right down to where the OPP will be set up to direct you guys in to town.
