Call him from a different number; tell him he has won a car (or some random b.s) in a contest that his name was entered in. Ask him to confirm his contact information for security reason's, so that he can claim his prize.

Maybe your right, this tactic is so 2004. But I will bet many people will offer up there address and full name, If they are not asked to provide any money. How many people do we see posting in this forum that they got an offer for a sweet deal on a vehicle, and they just received an eBay invoice with they're full name and address on it?
