Overnight parking on street

i see lots of bikes parked overnight and long term on the street without permits, but the city’s website looks like the rules do not exempt motorcycles form the 3 hour limit or overnight parking without permit.

anyone have insight/

’I see that temporary (24 - 48 hour) street permits for motorcycles are free.

I thought motorcycle permits in Toronto were based on plate number not a piece of paper that would get stolen? I suspect that may be the source of confusion.

If they are based on plate number that would explain it. In cars you get a small price of paper that you put on your dash.

Many of the bikes I see parked overnight have covers so you can’t see a sticker plate.

You need a parking permit and there is no fee for them. I have one clipped on to my bike cover for overnight street parking. Email pparking@toronto.ca to check if spots are available in your area.
