over the tank damper mount

If Anyone is in the market for over the tank mounting bracket check moto sport.com they're on sale 90 percent off. My question is do these provide enough dampening I installed mine and it seems to be soft. I bought the Hyperpro mounting kit And used my sprint damper off my of r1 And install both of these on my CBR 600 RR. The damper provided more than enough dampening on the R 1 with the shock mount but with the over the tank mount it's soft. Anyone else experience this or how can I make that damper stiffer? thicker oil maybe

Sounds like you need a rebuild. It shouldn't be that much softer unless the leverage of the mounting has changed radically.

Thats exactly what happens. The damper has less of a mechanical advantage over the front end when its a top mount versus a side mount.

I'm not sure that dampers can be switched from one to the other properly.

Also.. It's "damping"

So i could get a 500 dollar ohlins for 50 bucks? if you believe this you need to give your head a shake...

Read the post before u tell me to give my head a shake bud. i cleary said mounting bracket and was just trying to help someone out with a sweet score. UPDATE i rebuilt the damper and it helped but i think its like one of u said the mechanical advantages are different
